Bintliff’s in Ogunquit has Maine’s Best Brunch – When looking for your first meal of the day, you often don’t want to drive too far to start your morning. In Ogunquit, that means wandering over to Bintliff’s on Route 1 (Main Street). I’m so pleased to have a great breakfast place in the neighborhood.
My morning time ritual usually starts with me ending up at the same place every time. Bintliff’s Corned Beef Hash is hands down the best damn brunch I have ever had! Their famous Angus corned beef is simmered overnight, blended with potatoes, onions, special herbs and seasonings to make the Best Corned Beef Hash you ever tasted! Come complete with two poached eggs. I added the fabulous “BLT Bloody Mary” with bacon infused vodka to make a perfect breakfast. Jason, the bartender, also has another great Bloody Mary, this one with basil and cucumber infused vodka – it is described as a “Salad in a Glass” – and it really does taste like it.
Norm, the owner/chef is creative with both his morning entrees and accompanying adult beverages. And, you can still get a great cup of coffee. The best way to start the day is a seat at Bintliff’s. It doesn’t come any better.

Bintliff’s is modest on the outside, but stunning on the inside

… The restaurant has a charming atmosphere with music from long ago quietly playing in the background. It is a place where one feels comfortable, not intimidated. Meals are nicely paced, allowing you to relax and experience really fine food.
10+ Outstanding is every way even in February – We traveled 2 hrs to get to Ogunquit to go to another restaurant which turned out not be open. We are so glad it wasn’t and Bintliff’s was open. We were greeted immediately and seated right next to the fireplace. Very cozy atmosphere with a gas fireplace and very pleasing decor with a fancy bar. We received service immediately with our water glasses filled. We were surprised how many people were there considering the time of year. Now we know why.
I ordered the Prime Rib which is only available on Saturday’s. My wife ordered the special Cape Codder fish dinner for $28. After the delicious bread came out, we placed our orders including salads to start. They came quick and were good sized. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive and my water glass was filled constantly by another waitress. Then our meals came out and I couldn’t believe the size of the prime rib for $26. This was a massive 14 ounce cut on the bone. Not only was it cooked perfectly as I requested, it was the best cut of prime rib I’ve had in a long long time. It had very little fat which is unusual for prime rib. It came with juice to poor over which made it even better. Well, I was so full I couldn’t finish it after my potatoes and green beans. My wife also enjoyed her fish dinner immensely as well. The bill came to $82 dollars including wine and tax so with tip $97. Well worth every dime when you get outstanding service and food.
All in all, one of the best dinners we’ve ever had considering we had no idea what to expect and our first time stopping in Ogunquit since we usually stop in York.. We can’t believe there is a better restaurant in the area and highly recommend Bintliff’s. We will be returning in the near future. Should be rated # 1 because of extensive menu beyond seafood, reasonable prices, ample parking, excellent atmosphere(not noisy), service and food quality.
Starting the New Year off right! – I had the Greek burger and it was the best burger I have ever had! I see people commenting on their decor. But I really enjoyed the decor. I think it’s what makes them stand out. We will be back!
Atmosphere, service and tasty! – From the outside, Bintliff’s looks rather average. The decor inside dispels that image. Lots of interesting architectural detail. Service was excellent. Food quality was also excellent with very reasonable prices. Visited September 2016
Turned a Non-Breakfast Fan, Into a Fan! – I’ll tell you right away, I am not a fan of breakfast. I only eat it because I have to, so I’m not a fan of actually going out for it. Well, Bintliff’s changed that for when I visit Ogunquit. I ordered the Eggs Florentine – it was out of this world! The Florentine sauce was amazing. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly as well. My mom got the Creme Brulee French Toast, this is something to see. It can be shared between two people if you’re not big eaters. It looked and smelled amazing. Now to the drinks. I had the BLT Bloody Mary, which had bacon infused vodka. I was amazed with how much it tasted like bacon, yum! My mom got a specialty mimosa, and they did not skimp on the champagne. After eating at Bintliff’s, I look forward to eating breakfast the next time I am up there.
Always a delightful Experience! Had a party of 19 at the last minute. Bintliff’s opened their private room to accommodate us with our last minute reservation on a busy Saturday night. Every meal was delicious, and all out of town guests raved over the atmosphere, service and food quality. Norm and his staff never disappoint.
We actually chose this restaurant because the place we had originally set out to visit was closed. Boy, am I glad we did! The service was impeccable, the atmosphere lovely, and the food was superb! We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Ogunquit!
Every year I must go to Bintiff’s in Ogunquit. Our trip just wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t have my Lobster Benny! The menu choices are just awesome, with over 500 ways to order an omelette. The French Toast is also to die for, with pecans, fresh fruit, and home made whipped cream. The decor is so elegant, using windows and window treatments between tables. The staff is very friendly and extremely eager to please. I’ve been going back for years and years, and I’m never disappointed, as my photo will show.
This restaurant is by far the best restaurant in all of Ogunquit. It is quiet, reserved, elegant and serves wonderful meals at mid-range prices. We never fail to visit this place on every trip we make to this wonderful area. We keep trying others and are continually disappointed. Maybe the reason it is not #1 is because it is not a hot spot for the young people but it certainly is a great place for the older crowd. We started off with a wonderful mixed green salad that was clearly enough for two. My filet mignon was made just right, red but not bloody and the sauce was superb. The wife enjoyed her shrimp served over pasta. We will try another restaurant tonight in the hopes that it may be as good as Bintliff.
